HOW TO PLAY DRESS UP IN A CASUAL ENVIRONMENT.

This post is for those lads that are normally told they are always overdressed.

I hope the few things that I shall point out will help you become at par with the rest. Blending in with the crowd/ your peers is key, especially if you're going somewhere as a team.

Before I pre-empt myself with the reason as to why this is important, allow me to give you a walk through of what I used to style my models, Victor Kezzah and Dan Mwangi 

I chose a brilliant white shirt and did the master roll to the elbow point, a navy blue pinstriped pair of pants, a tan colour pair of double monk strap shoes by Tomaz as and lastly a tan belt to match the shoes.

The top button of the shirt is opened to show off an eased up look to the whole outfit. If you're walking in to a room where people are more likely going to feel intimidated by a full on suited look, you'll stand a chance to make them feel more comfortable around you. An alternate way to pair this look would be, a pair of chino pants in whatever colour, a white shirt and either Oxford shoes,a pair of tassel loafers, moccasins or boat shoes. 

In an office kind of set up, try and avoid denim unless you're in the construction industry where tough fabrics such as denim and khaki are the most suitable.

 I gave Dan a more up tight look with a pair of cotton pants, a striped shirt that borrows design aspects of a pilot shirt, a neat shave and a pair of lace up boots.

Lastly, always remember that the key to dressing up in a casual environment as I have advised is to remain approachable.
